Dr. Halim is Clinical Pro fessor in Car d io logy and par t time lecturer in medicine at the Medica l Un ivers i ty o f Khartoum. He was President of the Sudan Football Association from 19531973 and has served a member of the International Olympic Committee ever since 1968. He is a member of the FIFA Executive Committee and Vice-Chairman of the FIFA Medical Committee. Dr. Halim has been studying the cardiac physiology of sports and environmental physiology for over 40 years.
